TASK 8 - SCHOOLS THAT LEARN

Hello everyone! I am Victoria, the journalist of the group and THIS IS OUR LAST TASK!!

Do you remember when the course started in February? We thought that May was far away, but now it has arrived, so let's work and study a lot that our course is finishing and the summer is here!

This week we had to do a task similar to the first one, but in my opinion I think that it was the most difficult. We had to look for the relationships between Complexity paper and Connection paper. Here you can see a comic about our week:

We started our week on Monday at 9:30 in the morning and Linda explained us what our last task was about. After the explanation, we started thinking how we were going to do our work.
Each of us looked for some relationships in our houses, so after classes, on Tuesday, we met to have lunch in the canteen of the University and after we worked in our work. The next day we had the presentation day and everything was perfect, our stars did very well.

Here you have a video with some pictures about our meetings:

Here some pictures about the presentation day:

And here you have the presentation of our group:

Finally, here you have some comments in different web pages:

- Here to our friends Loonatics:

- Here to a web page about school organization, but our comment will appear in a few hours

Thank you for reading. I hope you have enjoyed it and good luck for all our classmates in our final exams.
XOXO

TASK 7- LEADERSHIP STYLES

Hi guys, I'm Sara and I'm back again with another role, the last one for me to try them all.

This week was about the different attitudes that a leader can have, so we had to choose a leader from one of our fluffys to be a candidate for being the head teacher of a school, because we was going to do some kind of speeches and then choose the winner from the whole class.

When we knew the task we thought that Pepe was the perfect fluffy to suit that role. And we started to think about what type of leader he was going to be.

Then, talking via WhatsApp, Teresa said that she wanted to be the Star, we explained her all the task and put in common all our ideas for the speech, we decided that she was going to be a transformational leader.

For this task, we didn't meet but we talked about it via WhatsApp. Meanwhile, I took my phone and my brain and tried to create some objects in order to animate Teresa with her speech. Here I let you the things I created.

 The logo
 The flag
The leader's medal
And our pin

The big day has come, we were ready and Teresa was a little nervous, and even more, when she knew we were the second ones to present.

Finally everything turned out well and was as planned.

I commented in the Frisky Hedgehogs' blog:

And also in this blog that helped us to understand a little bit more about the topic.

The thing doesn't finish here, right now we are all here, like me, (sitting in front of our computers) writing for you guys, so go and check the other posts! Hope you liked mine, bye!

TASK 7 - Part 2 - CONNECTIONS AND RELATIONSHIPS

Hi! I'm Jesús and this week I am the journalist.

On Monday, as always, our teacher explained us our new task. This time it was the third part of the task. We had to record a TV programme, but not as serious as the previous one. We have to create a reality. We did small groups in which we have to invent a concrete programme or a part of it. We wrote dialogues and we decided how to prepare the atrezzo. I have to develop a situation about a boy who suffered from bullying. In my group we divided our roles (actors, camera woman...).

Wednesday was the recording day. I can only talk about my programme because I didn't see any other recordings. I take part of the programme "The Diary of Leona" with some members of us (The Fluffy Guardians). We had two stories. Since the cast of one story was "on live", the other one were recording a video for the programme in another classroom. Our group, as always, make the task funnier.

Our programme was based in a successful Spanish programme which used to be broadcasted on the afternoon. Our members Pepe and María were two old ladies from the audience, who, although not being the protagonists of the show were the "stars", having short but hilarious performances in the background.

Sara took part of the show as the mother of one girl with a desease. I was an 11 years old boy (with a bushy beard) who suffer from bullying at school and whose end in the programme is unexpected.

Please, don't forget watching the programme. She knows everything you do. She watches you from her window!!

TASK 7 - Part 1 - COMPLEXITY AND RELATIONSHIPS

Hi everybody! I'm Maria. Last week I didn't have any role so this week I'm ready to write my task (journalist) creatively and originally :)

On Monday, Linda explained us that this week we were going to complement last week's task with a television show (specifically a newscast) with the news we found last week. So, the whole group were divided into two roles: editors and actors and actresses.

Within each task, at the same time, there were several functions. Editors were responsible for choosing the news, writing the scripts, creating the scenery and decoration, deciding the clothes, recording each shot and finally editing the video. Actors were responsible for representing
each shot correctly and in the way editors have chosen, learning the scripts written. In our group, Mari Carmen, Jesus and me were editors; and Victoria, Sara, Teresa and Pepe were actors.

At first, we didn't know how to organize ourselves and distribute tasks very well, but little by little we started to work!

So, on Wednesday we prepared the scenes and started to record (people were dressed in a very funny way). I think there were a very good organization among all, and we had time to record all the shots. My task within the editor's role were decoration, so I helped to create it in the presenters' scene (Pepe and Pepi), and record each shot. I didn't see the other recording so, I can't talk about them, but my experience with presenters was fun because we were joking and taking photos between shot and shot. Firstly, we recorded all the shots together, but then we decided to change the camera site, so we had to record again, and we did it shot by shot. I laughed a lot recording the outtakes, it was the best time without a doubt.

In conclusion, I can say that with few resources, together we can do a lot, even record a television show!!! It's just a matter of organization. Now, editors are editing the video to present it on Monday. I've seen the first seconds and it's amazing.

WELL DONE GUYS!

Maria

TASK 6-  COMPLEXITY AND RELATIONSHIPS

Hi! I'm Pepe and I am the journalist this week. This week, we have met to do the task after a week without meeting :(

On monday, Linda explained us the task that was divided in two chapters. The first chapter is named "The complexity of schools" and consists on finding news related with each subtittle and explain why both are related.
The second chapter is "Connections and relationships" and we had to invent a situation of each subtittle of the document that Linda brought us.

So, we started to work in class divided in two groups

On Tuesday, we met at the university in the afternoon and we continued working, some were helping Jesús with the chapter 1 (he was a star) and others were helping Sara with chapter 4 (yep, she was the other star).

Sara also did a mind map on the blackboard for dividing the work and making us understand the task

An important thing is that Sara, apart of being one star, she was also the facilitator and she motivated us buying snacks :D

On Wednesday, we though that we had to present our presentations to our classmates, but instead Linda explained us a different activity in which the stars were divided in two groups (newspaper editors and theatre editors), and the whole class was divided as well between this two groups in which we have to make a kind of News programme. But we will see this next week.

Here you have the link and the screenshot of the comment in a fantastic blog about this topic!

TASK 5 - WHAT HAVE WE LEARNT?

Hi everyone!
Here is Teresa and I am the journalist of this week. This week has been a bit strange as it has been the first time that we haven't met to do the task.

On Monday, Linda told us that we had to make a video summarizing everything we have learned during this weeks, and the winner would get a free apertivo!! so we searched for a cool and free tool to make the video and we found it: PowToon. We were about half and hour trying to start the video as we didn´t know how to use Powtoon but we finally were able to start our video.

As we didn't meet, we divided the work and everyone made some parts of the video at home. We decided that we could record our star explaining each task, but we had a lot of problems with the sound format and we finally weren't able to put it in the video as we don't have much time. We had to make the video in less than 48 hours, which was the limit that the web page let us to use Powtoon free.

On Wednesday, we presented our video and we made a kind of contest where we selected the best and the worst video. This was a bit difficult for us because we didn't want to hurt anyone.

We would have been really happy if we had got the ''aperitivo'', but we are proud of the work we did even if we couldn't add the sound. I am sure that next time we will do even better. We have noticed that we are gradually improving, and we are proud that we learn of our mistakes!

I have left a comment on the Tutti's blog because I think they did really good this week! You can see the comment here

TASK 4 - THE DARK SIDE OF TEXTBOOKS

Hi friends!
I am journalist Arazgul, The Fluffy Guardians worked hard for this week. Let's see what we have done:)))
4th week's topic was the negative sides of textbooks. For doing task, this week we had 3 alternatives; comics, info- graphic and twitter timeline. Which sounds better? Of course twitter timeline:))) Yes, on Monday after professor explained the work, we decided on twitter timeline and we began to think for it. We shared lots of creative and interesting ideas and met again on Tuesday after the English course. Firstly, we went to cafeteria and had amazing lunch...

After we saved huge energy, we began with task. Each Fluffy Guardian took some responsibilities and began with searching for information.

Everybody said the different drawbacks of textbooks and in total we found almost 20 concrete negative sides of it. While we were brainstorming and searching, we really enjoyed, because Pepe and Sara danced in Gangnam style, besides Pepe made such a funny jokes. After some fun, we prepared a poster of twitter timeline and tweet ideas.

Then, finally we have done with preparations.
Wednesday...
On Wednesday, it was not like an ordinary classes or like the way that we thought. Professor made new groups and as a new group we listened the stars presentation and comment on them. Each group had one star and all members were from different groups. However, the best part of the the lesson was making a question. She asked to make one perfect question from each group related to the bad sides of textbooks, but it should be creative, because if teacher likes the question, she will use it in our oral exam. One question is on pocket:)))) We felt like a teacher and made creative questions. I hope she liked it. Our star Maria presented our group perfectly, here she is

Yes, then after professor summed up the ideas and questions, we finished the class. It is holiday everybody, enjoy your holiday!

Here, as a journalist I commented on other group and blog

See you later..

TASK 3- PRESENTATIONS AND HOW TO BE A GREAT JOURNALIST

Hi everybody!

Once upon a time at the University of Murcia, there was a beautiful girl called Victoria (me) who was the journalist of the group; so I am going to tell you how were Linda’s classes this week. We have Linda’s classes on Monday and on Wednesday.

·         Monday: Mari Carmen and the bear

First of all, we have to return to last week. As my partner explained, we met last Monday to do our work. We had to explain a topic related to Primary School. Finally we chose the food chain. This time the stars were Pepe and Mari Carmen. On Tuesday night Pepe was very nervous so he went to sleep early. When he woke up he found that he was a bear!! We couldn’t believe, we were very worried about our presentation but Pepe had an idea.
The presentation time arrived. Pepe the bear and Mari Carmen did it very well. They explained the food chain and its participants and they also did an interactive example: Suddenly, a plant grew up over a table; afterwards, a funny rabbit ate the plant and unfortunately Pepe the bear was hungry, so he ate the beautiful rabbit! A little time after a hunter saw the bear and shot him.
The presentation time finished. It wasn’t very well finally because we had to change some things: the text in the Power Point, some pictures and so on; so the teacher asked us to repeat it in the next class. The problem continued. Pepe kept being a bear and he was very angry because her mother fed him only with fish but he wanted to eat a big pizza. During the weekend, we tried to correct all the mistakes in the presentation.
Now we have back to our present week. On Monday Pepe the bear was very sad because he thought that he was going to be a bear forever. This time the presentation was better than the last. Mari Carmen and Pepe did a good presentation with not much text, more pictures with CC License, they were moving themselves while they explained the topic and the interactive example was great, now there were some sounds that gave more credibility to the scene.
The presentation was finished and Pepe the bear suddenly fell down. When he got up he realized that he was a human again! We couldn’t believe it and the reason of his transformation is that Pepe the bear and Mari Carmen learnt how to do a good presentation.

Here we have some videos about Monday’s story:

Some moments of our group:

Mari Carmen and Pepe the bear’s second presentation:

·         Wednesday: The journalist team

The week continues. This time, apart from Monday’s presentation, we hadn’t to do any task so on Wednesday class our teacher asked us to do an activity to improve our knowledge of our role.
As I have said before, this week I am the journalist. The teacher divided us in different groups depending on our role, so the stars (Pepe) were in a group, the curators (Maria) in another group, the facilitators (Arazgul and Sara) were in another one, the translators (Mari carmen) composed another group, the analyst (Teresa and Jesús) were in another one and the last, but not least the journalist group (the mine).
The journalist group was composed by our boss Eric, Ester, Jamal, Teresa, David, José, Marina and me.

Our work consisted in make 30 seconds presentation about how to be a great journalist.
When we started thinking how to do our work, we realized that each one had a different power that could be useful in our work, so each superhero gave an advice related to his/her power:
· José had the objectivity power so his advice was about be objective and don’t give your opinion.
·  David had the precaution power so he said that you should take notes at the moment not at home.
·  My power was creativity so my advice was be creative and don’t use only text but videos, comics or storyboard.
· Teresa’s power was the photography so her advice was to make photos or videos in all moments not only in work meetings.
· Jamal had the well explained power so his advice was to expand your vocabulary and be specific.
·Ester’s power was the proximity so her advice was about keeping contact with other groups to learn positive and negative aspects.
·Marina had the power of being a ‘tweet star’ so her advice was to be active in social networks and don’t forget your followers.

The superheroes joined our powers and we got 7 important tips that we have to consider if we want to be a great journalist.

Here we have our 30 seconds video about our story. It is called 7 TIPS

I have also to say that I have written a comment in two different blogs

Visit our friends Loonatics to see one:

You can also visit our friends Sweet Chilli Pepper to see the other:

I hope you enjoyed reading these stories.
See you next time!!

THE END

TASK 3- CREATIVE COMMONS AND PRESENTATIONS

Hello! I'm Jesús and this week I'm the journalist this week. These were this week roles:

On Monday we started our work in class. Firstly made a brainstorm in order to decide our topic for this presentation. The topic Food chain were chosen. Our fantastic star, Pepe, decided that he was going to wear a costume to make our presentation funnier, something which is very important to catch children's attention. Here it is the wild dangerous beast!

As usual, we met that afternoon at Teresa's, were we did our power point. We searched some videos and docummentals about the food chain. We also were informed about Creative Commons Licenses. We downloaded some CC photos from the internet, usings searchers as flickrcc.net. Our work wasn't finished yet, so we finished them at home on Tuesday.

Wednesday we had to do the presentation. When our start Pepe appeared wearing a bear costume, our teacher made him promise to take a photo of himself wearing like that, explaining the food chain in a real school. He promised that so we are hoping to see him as a bear at school! We started our presentation, and our two stars, Mari Carmen and Pepe, were in the front of the class. There were some problems with the text at the biginning. Later, it started our "show". We explained our topic "in live". A plant growed up on the table. A cute little rabbit started to eat it, and suddendly, a hungry bear jumped and ate the rabbit! Later the bear were hunted by a man, who was not at scene. Everybody was laughing. I think it was fantastic because primary school children want that, having fun at school. Having fun as well as learning makes them learn even more, because boaring things doesn't attract people.

The plant, the rabbit, the bear and the hunter represented the producers, primary, secondary and terciary consumers respectively, of the food chain.

 Here it is our presentation:

I have also commented some posts. This is a post from our mates Tuttifruti about their work.

TASK 2- TREASURE HUNT: CARTOGRAPHIC PROJECTIONS

Hi everyone! I’m Mari Carmen, and this week I am the journalist of the group.

The first thing we did, of course, was moving our roulette and change our roles. It was time to start with this new task!!!!!
The facilitator started to distribute the work between all the group members and we started to look for information because we didn’t have any idea of what treasure hunt was.

In class we saw some videos, read some information on Wikipedia, images of the different projections… and that made us have a first impression of what this work was about.

Here you have some photos taken while we were working in class:

On Monday the 22nd February, we met in the afternoon again in Teresa’s house to make the work all together, putting in common all our ideas and looking for information, articles and videos more deeply. We divided the work, while some of us were doing the table of the maps projections, the others were doing the presentation and looking for examples of treasure hunt and media distortion. We had a little debate in the group of what type of presentation we should do and finally we decided to do a ‘Prezi’ because we thought that with that program it could be easier to show the world map and show all the information in an interactive way.  We stayed from 5 to 9pm doing the work but it wasn’t finished yet so the next day, Tuesday, we finished the table and we change some things that were wrong or incomplete.

Here I leave you some photos from Monday in the afternoon, preparing the presentation:

AND FINALLY, Wednesday arrived. At 10.40 the class started and the teacher told the stars to say one number to know in which position we were going to present the task to the rest of the class. We were the second group so the two stars, Vicky and Teresa started to get really nervous. The exposition was good but there were some mistakes because we forgot to say some important information but we will try to improve our presentations and works in the next ones!

This has been our second week working like a group and I think we all have worked well but obviously we can do it better and that’s what we will try to do for future tasks, read better what each one should do, what information is expected, and so on.
This activity, in our opinion, has been interesting because we have discovered many new things, for example what treasure hunts are, how many types of maps projections are and their differences, why media is not neutral… So we think that this has been a really interesting task.

If you want to have a look to our presentation of treasure hunt and cartographic projections click in the following link! Hope you like it!

Now I want to leave you here the comments that I have posted in one blog from the class and one blog from outside the class:
The first one is from The Chalkies http://chalkies7.blogspot.com.es/2016/02/th-cartographic-projections_26.html#comment-form, the blog of our classmates that we really have liked it. We think that they have done a good job because they made everyone attentive to their presentation and they explained well the different maps projections, the treasure hunt and the media distortion.

And we have also make a comment in one web that has helped us a lot to understand the Mercator and Robinson projections and their advantages and disadvantages. I recommend you to visit it!

Thanks for reading! See you next week!

TASK 1- TPACK

We've got the role's members distributed through a roulette and our blog done by the facilitator so... it's time to use it!

This week we have worked very well. We have done a mental map of the Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge answering 4 questions that today, Wednesday, the star have had to expose to the rest of the groups. For that, we have needed the help of all our group's members.

On Monday, in the morning, we thought about how and when we could do the mental map. We looked for many mental maps on the Internet for having an idea of the objective and choose the best one to explain TPACK. In the afternoon, we bought a cardboard and colour papers and we started to do the work. Firstly, we answered the questions that then, we had to represent on the map. After that, we drawed the boxes where we wrote the TPACK's elements and then we cut them for pasting on the cardboard. Also, we looked for images on the Internet such as a computer to express technology or a book to express the content for decorating it.

Here you can see some photos that were taken while we were working:

Today, Wednesday, the star has exposed the map to the rest of the groups and we hope that people liked it!

  1. take care of conserve the same typos in the entire post... if not, everything looks a bit "in disorder". Apart from that, please embed the prezi... not only includes the links. Finally, I would appreciate very much a bit more of... creativity(?) on your post.
    Nevertheless, is a good job.
