Task 8 - Schools that learn (Last task)

Hi everyone!!!!! I'm Mari Carmen, the facilitator of the Fluffys this last week!

In this last task, we had to create a connection map taking into account the relationship between the Complexity and Relationship documents that we read some weeks ago and two other new documents in Spanish: "Los centros educativos como organizaciones que aprenden" by Antonio Bolivar and "Estructuras para el trabajo y la coordinación de los profesores en los centros" by María Teresa González.

As a facilitator, on Monday, I divided the work between my mates. Sara, Maria and Victoria were in charge of the text of Bolivar, Pepe and Arazgul were in charge of summarizing the Complexity and relationship texts and Teresa, Jesus and myself were in charge of the text of María Teresa González.

On Tuesday, we started to make relationships between the texts and we decided the two stars. Pepe was one of them but we didn't know who was going to be the second star. At first, Jesus said that he could be star, but finally Teresa offered herself to be presenting with Pepe.

After a few hours of working, I saw my mates a bit tired and to motivate them I bought some lollipops

It has been the last task so we have tried to do it the best we could. We have had some problems with the size of the poster and with the relationships because we should have read more deeply the documents but despite that, I think we have done a good job and we have improve a lot during this course.

To end this journey, I want to say that despite it has been really tough to do every week a new task, we have learnt to work by groups, create our knowledge and see learning in another way.
I think we have evolved a lot since the first task until now. All the Fluffys have given the best every week and of course, we have had some errors but each week we have tried to do it better and better.

Thanks for being with us every week following our wonderful trip!

Task 7 - Leadership styles

Hi everybody, I'm Maria, the facilitatior of this week...my facilitator's first time!

On Monday, Linda explained us what the task was about. The goal was to create a school's director (one member of each group) with a particular leadership style (authoritarian, participative, transactional, transformational) and show it to class through an elections activity for getting `votes´. All the class had to guess each style.
So, we had to decide the style and which person would be the star, and therefore, the director. Firstly, as facilitator, I thought of Pepe because as we know, is very original and participating for all the tasks. Finally, the style was transformational, and the star and director was Teresa, and she did very well!!

From Monday to Wednesday we were looking for some ideas that were original to the task, and Sara thought about making flags and sheeting to motivate our director. So we decided to do it, with hymn included ;)

In general, all the groups did the task very well and creative. We saw a bodyguard, sheeting, a lot of banners, and one even distributed sweets for everybody!!! It was funny and I think that the teacher liked and enjoyed it a lot.

Here I leave you the leadership styles of the other groups of the class and some of the characteristics that they would have as directors

  1.      Loonatics ->
  2.      Fluffy Guardians -> transformational leader
  3.      Prickles -> authoritarian leader
  4.      Juncherees -> transformational leader
  5.      Chalkies ->
  6.      Sweet CP -> participative leader
  7.      FH -> participative leader
  8.      Tutti fruttis -> transformational leader

-Prickles: cafeteria healthier, have good marks...

-Juncharees: not many homework, culturality with a party, not competitive, vegetables, assembly, recycle, eat at least one fruit in a week for breakfast, avoid bullying helping older students to little students...

-Chalkies: no textbooks, students can decide activities they want to do and there they learn some values, campaign against bullying, work together...

-SCP: once a month trips to make relationships better, students fill a survey at the beggining of the trimester, encourage the participation with meetings...

-FH: free of exams, personal environment, participation of everyone, cineforums and concerts, customized extra activities, cheap food at school...

-Tuttifrutis: love of people, help, equality, build a lift, anti bullying program, encourage cultural intergration, facilitate students to buy textbooks in a market, healthy diet, motivate teacher and students...

See you guys!

María

Task 6- Second week of recording

Hey guys! I'm Sara and I'm the facilitator again

This week we have recorded our 'Zapping show video' in which in small groups, we represented the different relationships that can be found in schools.

I was encharged of the 'Diary of Leona' recording set, in the first case that was about the relationship between teachers and students.

I tried to organize and help my group in every moment so
I helped with the recording, also I acted and then, I edited the whole 'Diary of Leona' video.

In the artifacts page, you can find the relationships found on school and also the video 'Complexity News' from the last week.

Hope to see you next week, bye!!!

Facilitator - Task 6

Hi guys!!

My name is Sara and this week I've been the facilitator of the Fluffys.

With this task, we started the organization part of the course. And the task was about fiction and reality, seems hard to combine it, don't you think? Well, it's not like that, altought they seem like the opposite, you can combine it perfectly.

First of all, I read the task to master it (like we saw on the facilitators' video the previous weeks). I tried to understand everything perfectly so, as a coach who prepares his team before the play,  I took a blackboard and some chalks and tried to explain schematically the task to them.

Here you have the task explained, if you want to have a look. (Sorry for the handwriting)

As the task was two different parts, I divided our group in two sections of work, in which Maria, Victoria and Jesus were encharged of collecting the news and trying to relate them with the 6 parts of chapter one.

So Teresa, Mari, Pepe and I were encharged of the second part, inventing fiction cases for the types of relationships in schools (Chapter 4)

Time to work! And... what can I do to make the work easier? Motivate my group with some of their favourite songs. I made a playlist on spotify so they all could listen their songs! (Can you guess which song belongs to whom?, I dare you!)

Okay, but after work, it's time to get some energy, that's why I bought them some food, food never fails.

Maybe you are thinking that we had so much fun eating and with music, but this just was a little motivation, after this fun, it's time to...

Then, on wednesday I were one of the starts too, I'm going to explain why in the star's post.

Thank you very much for reading my post, hope you enjoyed!

Facilitator - Task 5

Hi everyone!

My name is Pepe and I am the facilitator this week.
This week has been a little strange, because we had to make a two minutes video tutorial explaining what we have learned during the course.

First of all, we decided to use Powtoon, a website in which we can do awesome presentations so I divided the work.
This week we haven't had time so we didn't meet for doing the task, I divided the work and everyone in their own house did some parts of the presentation (in powtoon).

To motivate my group, I brought some candies on Wednesday and when we were discussing in our Whatsapp group, I motivated them by telling things about the "free aperitive" (We like free things)

We also had some problems with the audio, because we wanted to add an explanation that we recorded but it didn't work well. There wasn't a big problem

You can go to the Artifact's tab to see the video!

Hope you like it :D

Bye!

Facilitator - Task 4

Hi everyone!

My name is Teresa and I am the facilitator of this week. I have to say that I was really excited for being the facilitator, as I had a lot of ideas to motivate my team.

To work faster, I divided my team in three groups. One group was drawing the Twitter design on the cardboard. Another group was collecting reasons to don't like textbooks, and the last group wrote them on Twitter, made the screenshots for the timeline and helped the other group to collect reasons to don't like textbooks.

For this task, we broke the rule of meeting in my house every Monday. This time we met on Tuesday, we had lunch in the University and we got a class where we could do the task.

To motivate my team, I put some music according to each member's likes in order to make the work more enjoyable. Later, after a hard session of work, I thought my team deserved a little break, so I brought them some snacks and a very funny and diabolical game; ''Uno''.

It seems that this strategy worked well, because we were able to finish earlier than in previous tasks. I am very proud of my team and the effort and work we made!

On Wednesday, our star, María, presented the work and the timeline in class, and I think she did really good for being the first time.

Finally, I have to say that I am satisfied with our work on this week, BUT we still have to improve even more!

Facilitator - Task 3 Reviewed

Hello!
I am Arazgul Allaberdiyeva. I am the facilitator of Fluffy Guardians this week. For the task 4, we prepared the video about how to be the number one facilitator. This time we do not do it with our group members, but with all expert facilitators from each group. On Wednesday in our practice session we mixed all our ideas and planned the video and record it. Since all have different creative ideas we have not faced with any trouble. Personally, I really enjoyed while preparing this task. Hope you will enjoy, here our video... Thank you

Facilitator - Task 3

Hello everybody!

I am Victoria and I am the facilitator this week. I have tried to do my role in the best way I know.
I have divided our work depending on the tasks to look for information faster. On the one hand, one group made the first task about what means and how to use the Creative Commons License (CC license) and how to do a good presentation, using a Power Point about 30 slides. On the other hand, the other group made the second task. We had to make a presentation about a topic related to any content on Primary School using another Power Point.

The two most difficult decisions were choosing the topic and choosing another star, but finally we agreed so the food chain was our topic and Mari our other star.

We usually meet on Monday afternoon to do our work. This time I brought some crisps to the rest of the group to motivate them in our rest time and while we were doing our work, we were listening to music as the new Rihanna's song called 'Work' (we actually like it).

About presentations, for our group the best is the interactive and original Frisky Hedgehogs' presentation, it was about colors. I have to say that another presentation that we have liked a lot is the original Tutti-frutti's one that is a story about respect and diversity;. Of course they had some mistakes for example in the case of the Frisky Hedgehogs the color of the Power point or in the case of the Tutti-frutti's that they didn't interact with the public. The worst one was the Prickles’ presentation about vertebrates. I think they can improve their performance interacting more with people, putting less text in the slides, making the topic more attractive to the public and so on.
Some mistakes that we have to avoid are: read the text, speak quietly, spend more time doing the presentation than we have, put more photos in the Power Point and less text and choose the presentation colors better.

Finally, I want to say that it is easy to do your role when your partners help you in all you need. Everybody did the part of the work they had to do very well so we make a good team!

Facilitator - Task 2

Hello!

I'm Jesús and this week I have been the facilitator. I have tried to organise and divide our work. In order to search information and having ideas, each person searched information on the internet, watching videos and pictures. We decided to chose Ecuator and England as example of distorted countries. Prezi was the tool chosen for the presentation because we though it could be interactive and nice looking, although we really didn't know how to use it properly.

One important decision I had to take was who was going to be our second star. I decided that Vicky should be it because she didn't have a role this week, as well as Arazgul, but she has been our star last week.

Our work were divided. It was a bit difficult because many people have different ideas which seemed to be really difficult to connect in order to obtain a common point of view of the task. Everyone worked and we could do all our requirements.

To sum up I would like to say that finally it wasn't very difficult to do my role because every single of my mates had a great attitude and we all worked together. Everyone did the part of the task they had to do, being well organised.
